Per Car Watch and Response, the full reveal is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, with Mitsuoka expected to begin accepting orders the following day.
The images are the news. Where the Toyama-based coachbuilder was showing sketches in August, the photographs on the new site reveal a soft-top open two-seater with pronounced fenders and quad round headlights — a front end that continues the company's long-running preference for retro-inspired styling. The site's text does not describe the car in specification terms; instead it traces the project back to founder Susumu Mitsuoka's encounter with a kit car in Los Angeles — vintage looks over a modern chassis — and talks about open-air driving.
Whether "LA1" is the production name is not yet settled. The designation appears prominently in the site's logo and URL, but Mitsuoka has not stated that it will be the model's name, and Car Watch treats it as a likely name rather than a confirmed one. According to Car Watch and Response, Mitsuoka plans to publish the main specifications, equipment, manufacturer's suggested retail price and color range on November 26, before opening order books on November 27.
There is still nothing official on what is underneath. Several Japanese outlets have speculated that the car could use Mazda Roadster (MX-5) underpinnings, but Mitsuoka has released no technical details to support that, and the teaser site says nothing about platform or engine.
