Next Nissan GT-R次期GT-R

Updated · updated whenever a claim moves · JDM Insider Japan

Everything we can actually stand behind about the next GT-R, sorted by how solid it is. Official announcements, on-record executive comments, credible reports and speculation are kept strictly separate — and every claim carries its source and date.

The R35 finished production in August 2025. Nissan has committed to the GT-R's future but announced no successor. "R36" is an enthusiast nickname, not a Nissan code name.

Rumor / Speculation噂・予想

Predictions and unconfirmed chatter. Treat accordingly.
  • Response.jp's rendering-based prediction imagines a hybrid or plug-in-hybrid built around an evolution of the VR38DETT V6, roughly 800–900 PS (up to ~1,000 PS for a NISMO), arriving 2029–2030. No named source; none of it confirmed by Nissan.

  • The "R36" name itself is unofficial. Nissan has never used it publicly.
